What a question huh? Where the hell have I been? Truth be told, I don’t even know where the time has gone but in the past year and a half I bought a house, went to Thailand, made several trips within the USA, took a few road trips, and ended up clocking in about 20,000 miles on my car (that’s a lot considering I usually only put about 11k mi/yr). So between all the trips, and my nine-to-five job, and a few relationships, I didn’t really have the time to dedicate to Tekbru.com. But, now it’s a new era-time-whatever you wanna call it and I’m starting over. This is a new website for a new Sammy. I know that sounds really cheesy but I feel like a new man with a clearer vision and a direction that I didn’t see before. Maybe this clarity is just a sign that I am getting wiser (also known as losing the rest of my hair and hearing more creaking noises from my back and knees).
What’s changing? Well, for starters, the site itself. I am no longer using Joomla; I am using Wordpress. I like it too. It’s easy and, the real reason why, I can do a lot more from my iPhone. What else is changing? The content, but not much, I promise. I’ll still be doing video reviews when I can but I will be focusing more on brain dumps, first impressions, initial reactions, and so forth. I want to start capturing the initial excitement or possible disappointment when I review a new product. I used to spend weeks testing a product, writing notes, making observations, and then writing a review based on extensive tests. Instead, I want to see if it’s true that a products worth in design and functionality can be noticed almost immediately. I want to know, is it good to go from the start or is it a product that doesn’t seem to be right on point?
What isn’t changing? I still work for you, my readers. I will always be honest with you. I will never lead you down the wrong path. I will always tell you if a product is worth spending your hard earned money on. The methods for receiving Tekbru.com will be the same. You will have this website, you will have access to my Twitter, and my YouTube. I also encourage you to see my past video reviews.
What else? Nothing really. I make this shit up as I go along. If you like or don’t like something, tell me. If you want to see something on the site or want me to review something, let met know and I promise I will do my best. I won’t make any radical surprise changes (like the idiots did at thesixtyone.com).
So that’s it. Keep reading, subscribe to the RSS, tell your friends, search YouTube for my videos, or just google “tekbru” and see what happens.
